When you feed your birds, it can also be exciting to make your own teat balls. Here is our suggestion how to do it:
Tit balls are a popular way to feed tit during the winter. They are easy to make and can be customized to your own preferences.
Ingredients:
- 250 g melted fat, e.g. margarine, lard or palmin
- 100 g sunflower seeds
- 100 g hemp seeds
- 100 g nuts, e.g. peanuts, walnuts or pecans
- 100 g raisins
- 100 g oatmeal
Course of action:
- Melt the fat in a saucepan over low heat.
- Add the other ingredients and mix well.
- Pour the mass into a form, e.g. a spring form and let it set in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
- Cut the teat balls into suitable pieces and hang them in trees or on automatic bird feeders.
Tips:
- You can add other ingredients to the milk balls, e.g. fruit, vegetables or dried fruit.
- You can also add spices, e.g. cinnamon, cardamom or ginger.
- If you want to make tit balls for birds smaller than tit, make them smaller.
Storage:
Breast balls can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Be aware that teat balls can be dangerous for children and pets. Keep them out of the reach of children and pets.
